What Does It Mean To Be Right With God?
Hello there Christian Damsel👋🏽.
Happy new year, and welcome back to another post🙂.
Let's dive in!
God wants us to be right with Him
God wants us to be ready for our death or for when Jesus comes to catch away the saints (aka the rapture).
But what does it mean to be right with God? How can we be sure that we are walking on the narrow path? Using thoughts from the movie "The Narrow Way", I'll be sharing on the topic of being right with God.
Here are 9 ways to check if you are right God:
1. You have forsaken false religions
Being right with God starts with rejecting false paths of salvation. If you are following and believing in Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, you have made one step in the right direction.
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" - Acts 4:12
2. You are given to spiritual disciplines
Consistent engagement in the triple combo of prayer, Bible reading, and fasting is essential in walking with God. They help us to be spiritually sensitive to the convictions and leading of the Holy Spirit. That means they help us to keep a right relationship with God.
3. You do not forsake the assembly of the brethren
God has placed His people in a body. If you have found a true Christian fellowship, staying connected to those believers is a sign of staying connected to the Lord Jesus. It is the enemy who will put feelings of separation in our hearts towards our true Christian brethren. When there is true personal revival, our desire to see our brethren always increases.
4. You say no to opportunities for sin
Making the hard decision to speak the truth even if you will get in trouble for it, is a sign of being on the narrow path. It could also be in the form of denying yourself of fornication or adultery, even when it is convenient to do so. Think of Joseph and his constant "no" to Potipher's wife, even to the point of running out on her. (Genesis 39:7 - 13).
5. You give up your rights for peace's sake
Sometimes holding on to being right can create more harm than good. If you don't create a fuss to defend yourself when you know you are right, you are on the narrow path. This can be in the context of marriage relationships, on the job, or even at church.
"Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?" (1 Corinthians 6:7)
6. You are given to evangelism
If you are on fire for sharing Jesus with others around you, you are staying on the narrow path. I have found that as my personal love for Christ gets shabby, so my witnessing zeal declines. But when my love for Christ gets stirred, so my soul is stirred for the lost. We are losing out from a right stance with God when we are cold in evangelism.
7. You abstain from worldliness
When you choose to be different from the world in what you talk about, what you choose as entertainment, how you dress, etc., you are on the narrow path. This could mean choosing not to go with all the latest trends in fashion, or needing to buy the newest home appliances, or keeping up with the hypest electronic devices.
8. You deny yourself of opportunities for unrighteous gain
As a freelance writer, I am not making a fortune, and that may be because of my relative inexperience😆. However, I often see jobs I can't accept because they involve writing for casinos, video gaming, feminism, horror, lesbianism, sex, gossip, etc. (No, I didn't make up that list😬). If you keep denying yourself of unscrupulous money-making chances, you are staying on the narrow path.
9. You live with right motives
If you do all righteous works with pure motives, then you will be right with God. God appreciates when we crucify our flesh and deny ourselves as for the previous points. However, He is MOST concerned that our motive for doing any of these things is love for Him and love for our fellow man.
If you do something just to fit in, or because of the fear of man, or to compete with another believer, etc, you are stepping off the narrow path.
That's it for this post😎!
Thanks for stopping by my fellow Christian Damsel🤗.
If there is any other key point you can think of for us to be on the narrow path, please leave it in the comments👍🏽.
Be blessed!

Giving up our rights for peace is quite an unpopular stance, but I do agree with you. Modeling the right behavior is of utmost importance.
